International Ornithologists' Union (IOU)

Postby JuanMasello » Fri Sep 11, 2015 6:01 am

Dear Colleagues all over the world,

I take great pleasure in writing to you to announce the launch of the website of the International Ornithologists' Union (IOU). As you may have heard at the 2014 IOCongress in Japan, the IOU has been formally reorganized into a membership-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is international in scope. In order to serve our members in the best way possible, a new website has been created. Please visit

http://www.internationalornithology.org/

For those of you who wish to join IOU and avail yourself of our products and services (outlined below) we encourage you to visit

https://www.internationalornithology.org/application.aspx%20to%20complete%20the%20online%20membership%20form.

We trust that our website will function as an information clearing house for our members anywhere in the world, and also be the platform for exchanging and exploring ideas on ornithological topics between formal congresses or meetings. Whether you want to locate a colleague, find information on specific issues, seek information on new research tools, initiate collaboration, or explore opportunities in another country, we hope our website will serve your needs.

We encourage you to explore the content of our website and tell our Assistant Newsletter Editor, Dr. Xinhai Li ( lixh@ioz.ac.cn), your needs and any and all ideas you may have to increase its functionality.

We look forward to welcoming you to our family of IOU members.

With warm regards,

Lucia Liu Severinghaus
President
International Ornithologists' Union

P.S. All of you who attended the IOCongress in 2014 are automatically members for the year 2015.

You are receiving this email because of your previous association with an IOU/IOC event. If you do not want to receive any future e-mailings from us, please reply to this email with a subject line of "REMOVE".
